CarMax announced layoffs of approximately 230 corporate employees from its Home Office and Auto Finance departments. This follows a previous round of 350 customer service layoffs in October 2025. Of the 230 affected employees, 113 are in the Richmond area. The company cited the need to reduce costs and operate with a leaner workforce amid declining market share.
