1.

The Services and Acceptance of These Terms

Layoff Today publishes reporting and information about layoffs, workforce changes, company developments, and related business topics. The Services are intended for public, informational use.

You may use the Services only if you can form a binding contract under applicable law. If you access or use the Services on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2.

Operator, Ownership, and Editorial Content

The Services are owned and operated by Layoff Today LLC. Unless otherwise noted, the site design, selection and arrangement of materials, headlines, articles, summaries, graphics, logos, and related editorial materials are owned by Layoff Today or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

Editorial content may discuss employers, workforce reductions, job-market conditions, public filings, and third-party reporting. Nothing in the Services transfers to you any ownership interest in our content, branding, or underlying intellectual property.

3.

Permitted Personal Use

Subject to these Terms, Layoff Today grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for your personal, lawful, non-commercial, and informational use.

The license above is limited to uses that preserve attribution, do not remove proprietary notices, and do not suggest sponsorship, endorsement, or approval by Layoff Today where none exists.

  • Read, view, and share links to publicly available pages on the Services.
  • Quote brief excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the relevant page where otherwise permitted by law.
  • Download or print a single copy of public content for your own informational use, provided you keep all copyright and proprietary notices intact.

4.

Restrictions on Use and Reuse

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, by law, or by our prior written permission, you may not use the Services or our content in ways that exceed the limited license above.

Layoff Today may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the Services when we reasonably believe your conduct violates these Terms, threatens the Services, or creates legal or operational risk.

  • Copy, republish, scrape, mirror, archive, translate, distribute, syndicate, license, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the Services or our content.
  • Use bots, crawlers, scripts, or other automated means to harvest articles, images, summaries, email addresses, or other materials from the Services without authorization.
  • Remove, alter, obscure, or bypass copyright notices, branding, attribution, security features, or technical protections.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the Services, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, system, or network.
  • Misattribute our reporting, impersonate Layoff Today, or use our content in a way that falsely suggests partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement.
  • Upload, transmit, or introduce viruses, malware, malicious code, or other harmful material through or in connection with the Services.

5.

Tips, Submissions, and Communications

If you send us tips, pitches, corrections, survey responses, feedback, or other materials, you represent that you have the right to send them and that doing so does not violate any law, confidentiality obligation, contract, or third-party right.

Unless Layoff Today agrees otherwise in writing, you grant Layoff Today a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, reproduce, store, adapt, publish, distribute, and otherwise use those materials for editorial, operational, archival, legal, and business purposes.

You remain solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of anything you submit to Layoff Today.

6.

Newsletters and Service Communications

If you subscribe to a newsletter or otherwise provide an email address to us, you agree that we may send you the requested newsletter and related messages about Layoff Today, our coverage, and affiliated offerings, subject to applicable law.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message. Even if you opt out of promotional messages, we may still send service, security, operational, or legal notices when necessary.

7.

Third-Party Links and Outside Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, employer pages, social platforms, job listings, analytics providers, or other outside services for reference or convenience. Those resources are controlled by third parties, not Layoff Today.

Layoff Today is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, products, services, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party resource. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and that third party.

8.

Layoff Today is a journalistic and informational service. Content on the Services is not legal, financial, investment, employment, career, or other professional advice and should not be used as a substitute for independent judgment or advice from qualified professionals.

Layoff and workforce news can change quickly. Although we aim to provide timely reporting, we do not guarantee that any article, summary, statistic, company description, or linked material is complete, current, accurate, or error-free.

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Layoff Today disclaims all express and implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

9.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Layoff Today, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Layoff Today for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

10.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Layoff Today, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.

11.

Governing Law, Venue, and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of the Services are governed by the laws of the state or jurisdiction of Layoff Today LLC's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to applicable law, any such dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

12.

Changes to These Terms

Layoff Today may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above.

If a change is materially adverse, we may provide additional notice where appropriate, but you are responsible for reviewing the current Terms before using the Services.
